Endurance-loving cyclist ‘Gasman’ completes 2019 Pure Peak Grit route in record time – Interview Here!

Gasman and friends

Gasman, a doctor currently working in Cambridgeshire, decided to escape his local flatlands and attempt a fastest known time for the PPG 2019. After the unfortunate postponement of PPG and the majority of other events this year, Gasman decided to focus his lockdown training on the hilliest long distance event route we have – and relish the opportunity to explore and become well acquainted with our gorgeous Peak District.

Kindly donating the recommended £30 to The Friends of the Peak District to use the route, and for us to validate his attempt, he powered through horrendous downpours with his friend Nick, without even an ounce of sleep. They were self-supported, and finished in a total time of 35h 41min.

Hear how he managed it, and what he thought of the route…
